The tight hoop on Sun Wukong's head
According to the Ming Dynasty novel "Journey to the West", the "tight band" refers to the head band of a monk. Originally, it was the most precious treasure of the Buddha's sect, belonging to one of the three golden tight bands, each with a spell bestowed upon Guanyin Bodhisattva to restrain the powerful demons. Among them, the tight hoop was given to Sun Wukong, who was initially disobedient, to wear on his head. Once this treasure took root, it could not be removed on its own. Guanyin secretly bestowed the Tightening Spell on Tang Monk. As soon as Tang Monk recited the spell, Sun Wukong's head was in excruciating pain and he was powerless to disobey his master's orders.
